<p>Over the weekend, me & our head admin <b>1911</b> had a chance to test out a new <b>CSDM</b> module for our <b id="chatcolor">#Deathmatch</b> server, so in today's update blog post, we are gonna talk about module's neat quirks & features.<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Yes, this is not a plugin, it is indeed a module which is possible via reHLDS & ReGameDLL_CS.</span></p>
|
|
<h4>[Team Selection]</h4>
|
|
<p>When you connect to the server, you won't get a chance to pick which side you wanna play on because it will be automatically done for you by the module itself.<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Of course, if you want to change the teams mid game, you can freely do that!</span></p>
|
|
<h4>[Weapons]</h4>
|
|
<p>On our previous CSDM plugin, there was only one way to re-enable your weapon equip menu. This was in case you selected the "<b id="tcolor">3. <span style="color:white"> 2 + Don't show menu again</span></b>" option which would make your weapon selection persistent up until a map change, or if you typed <span id="gcolor">/guns</span> in the chat.
|
|
When making your selected weapons persistent after today's update, the following message will appear: <br>
|
|
<span id="chatcolor"><span id="gcolor">[CSDM]</span> Press <span id="tcolor">'G'</span> or type <span id="ctcolor">'guns'</span> in chat to re-enable your equip menu.</p>
|
|
<p>So with this module, it's not possible to accidentally drop your weapon with the default bind which is <b id="speccolor">'G'</b>. When you do press G or type 'guns' in the chat, the following message will appear:<br>
|
|
<span id="chatcolor"><span id="gcolor">[CSDM]</span> Your equip menu has been re-enabled.</span><br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">There were instances where someone would accidentally drop their weapon & it would disappear so that has been resolved by itself.<br>
|
|
Also, your equip menu will only re-enable after respawning!</span></p>
|
|
<p>At this moment, all weapons are available on all maps. Sometime in the near future, we will fix this.<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">The nades have been removed as they are unneccesary.</span></p>
|
|
<h4>[Fragging]</h4>
|
|
<p>This is the part we are most excited to talk about. When getting a frag, you will gain <b id="gcolor">+5hp</b> per kill. If you get a headshot, you will gain <b id="gcolor">+10hp</b>. Sounds familiar? Yes, we had this feature not too long ago but it didn't work as intended.<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Due to health refill, you won't get your ammo refilled after getting a frag. This was done to maintain balance.<br>
|
|
Armor refill is also enabled but it needs more testing.</span></p>
|
|
<p>When getting a headshot, you will get a blue coloured fade screen to give some visual feedback. There's also a <b>boop</b> sound that plays each time you get a headshot which gives you an auditory feedback. I personally find the sound pretty satisfying and very hilarious!<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Oh, there's also a neat little feature where you can see your frags being displayed where the money is.</span></p>
|
|
<h4>[Spawn Points]</h4>
|
|
<p>We always had random spawns selected by default on our bigger maps such as <span id="chatcolor">de_dust2</span> & <span id="chatcolor">de_inferno</span> to make it a little more interesting. With this module, not all have the required config files such as <span id="chatcolor">de_mirage</span> but we're working on that. If you see any maps that don't have random spawn points, please inform us via our <a href="mailto:y2k.cs@proton.me" id="adless" style="color:white;"><b>email!</b></a>
|
|
<h4>[Some additional features]</h4>
|
|
<p>Here are the list of unused cvars & what they do:</p>
|
|

<span id="smoltext">Hide other players kill feed and show only yours.</span>
|
|
<li id="chatcolor">csdm_hit_indicator <span style="color:grey"> 0<br>

<span id="smoltext">Indicate when player hit someone on screen.</span>
|
|
<li id="chatcolor">csdm_hs_only_mode<span style="color:grey"> 0<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Only accept hits at head on players.</span>
|
|
<li id="chatcolor">csdm_hud_kd_ratio<span style="color:grey"> 0<br>
|
|
<span id="smoltext">Show kill/death ratio & headshot percentage in hud message.</span>
|
|
</ul>

|

|
<h4>[Hitbox Fixing]</h4>
|
|
<p>This is a really weird one. When we got the module for our <b>#Deathmatch</b> server, we also got two more modules bundled in. <a href="https://github.com/SmileYzn/CSDM/tree/main/cstrike/addons/accuracyfix" id="adless" style="color:white;" target="_blank"><b>Accuracy Fix</b></a> & <a href="https://github.com/SmileYzn/CSDM/tree/main/cstrike/addons/hitbox_fix" id="adless" style="color:white;" target="_blank"><b>Hitbox Fix</b></a> . Me & <b>1911</b> tried the Accuracy Fix module & we found how much easier it was to hit your shots mid air. In fact, it was so easy that we decided to remove the module entirely as it felt like it broke the game. The <b>Hitbox Fix</b> module is still present on the server but we haven't noticed anything different in particular so if any of you face any issues, feel free to <a href="mailto:y2k.cs@proton.me" id="adless" style="color:white"><b>email</b></a> us.</p>
